Rogues Gallery

The installer felt that the aerial needed to be high up, which is fair enough, but there’s right way and a wrong way. He chose the wrong way, in every respect. He used a poor quality aerial. He didn’t fix the cable properly. He fixed a small cheap chimney bracket on the top two courses of brickwork.

So what should he have done? He should have used a decent aerial. He should have used two chimney brackets, at least 500mm apart. He should have used a 12ft 2” mast. And he should have fixed the cable to the mast properly.

It’s possible that this aerial had previously been fixed on the same chimney bracket, with a shorter mast.
