Aerial photography - Ancient Gallery

I think this dates from 1963 when I was 14. UHF TV aerials were in use in London but not yet elsewhere. I simply had to have a UHF aerial, even though there were no transmissions in the north of England and the chances of my dad buying a UHF 625 line TV set in the foreseeable future were remote in the extreme. I cannibalised several old ITV aerials and spent an evening in my dad’s workshop making this curious thing. I can still remember making it, and the frustration of not being able to try it out!
