The installer had simply connected this amplifier into the downlead half way across a flat roof. Why he hadn’t fixed it to the aerial mast I have no idea. The roof had flooded due to a blocked drain. The complaint was that ‘every time it rains the picture goes off.’ Apparently the water level had risen and fallen several times, with the amplifier failing whilst immersed and then recovering.
