In the early 1970s Hil and I moved to a new house, and although it was in quite an elevated location ghosting was a problem. I found that with the aerial on the back wall it still had a good a view towards the transmitter, but the house shielded it from the gasometers in town. For good measure I extended the director chain from 16 to 24 elements, although whether that would make any significant difference I very much doubt. In any case, it worked.
