Aerial photography - Ancient Gallery

A Band I/III combo made by Jaybeam. Note the distinctive Jaybeam cable connection box, and the Band III active element. The quarter wave sections were connected to the Band I dipole at both ends. Whether this was an improvement on the more common and more simple technique of simply using the Band I dipole to receive the Band III signals collected by the Band III reflector and directors I don’t know. These aerials were, like all Jaybeam products of the era, very well made, but the movement of the long Band I dipole has, in this example, fractured the lower link to the Band III dipole, as you can see in the enlargement.
