The second generation of Sky dishes, dating from the early 90s. The first ones were solid white dishes. Then these perforated black steel ones came along. The LNB is still the infamous ‘bluecap’. Early examples of this LNB had a blue feedhorn cover that could disintegrate in sunlight, causing the early death of the electronics within. These perforated dishes were prone to rust, as in this example. The mounting bracket was in itself quite robust, but the weak point was the single large bolt that pivoted the dish. It was very difficult to tighten this bolt enough to prevent dish movement in high winds. Considering the severe cost constraints though, this was not a bad product.
