The installers have re-used a pair of old wall brackets, reinforcing them with two new ones. Still rather nervous of the outcome should the wind blow they have added one guy wire. In my opinion one guy wire is nothing more than an admission that the rigger knew that the installation wasn’t safe. In a gale it won’t do any good at all. What’s more the one-bolt fixing for the solitary guy wire is rather pathetic.

An aerial of this size and weight just can’t be fixed safely on an ordinary twenty foot aerial mast. This grade of mast is not strong enough. In fact, I won’t use twenty foot lengths of ordinary aerial mast for anything. They are inherently unsafe. The only way is to use a scaffold pole, with three or more guy wires if necessary.
