The aerial installer has to treat flat roofs of all kinds with care. Even walking across a felt roof can make it leak badly if the felt has bubbled up in places. Even putting the rubber feet of a ladder on an unprotected flat roof is unwise. You should never ever deliberately make holes in a felt roof, unless you have the roofing contractor standing by to make good. So what’s this then? It looks very much as if our man has screwed or nailed a fascia bracket to the felt roof! There hasn’t even been an attempt to apply sealant around the damage (not that it would work because the movement of the aerial would crack it).
