Albert's Attic Gallery

The
local council decided, not before time, to refurbish an estate
of houses built by the colliery owner in the 1920s. The tenants
were moved onto a caravan site, and we had to provide them with
TV reception. The only possible location for an aerial was in
a tree in the middle of the site, so up I was sent with a Jaybeam
MBM30. The distribution cables were simply hung from caravan to
caravan. Some tenants had 405-line VHF only sets, so rather than
complicate matters the council paid for them to rent 625-line
UHF sets at 25p per week.
