Albert's Attic Gallery
This
is a thorough and rather learned piece covering pretty well all
aspects of the interference problem as it was in 1950. VHF television
was affected by impulse interference much more than is UHF, and
in those days of trams, tracklesses, and unsupressed petrol engines,
there was certainly plenty of impulse interference about. The article
concludes with a vital observation that is as true today as it was
then, although it is often disregarded or not understood: "There
can be no doubt that the most effective solution is the one that
prevents the interference from ever occurring."
